2 ALTERNATIVES

(Concept of) The Lakatosian concept of alternatives is that we should be allowed to retain ideas in the face of difficulties and must be allowed to introduce new ideas even if the established views should appear to be fully justified and without blemish. This strengthens the interplay of alternatives --it's silly to have alternatives if they ignore each other.
