The Giga-Hertz-Prize for electronic and accusmatic music includes four special prizes. Their goal is to initiate and support new projects in the area of electronic and acousmatic music. ÷ Film screening and discussion :: The Frontier Gandhi :: "The Frontier Gandhi: Badshah Khan, a Torch for Peace" tells the story of a Muslim peacemaker. In partnership with Mahatma Gandhi, Khan (also known as Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan) led a nonviolent resistance movement against British colonial rule in the first half of the 20th century. The documentary includes rare historical footage as well as a score by world music pioneer David Amram who will give a concert later that evening.

He is above all known for his versatility as a musician, composer, jazz virtuoso and author. The 81-year old American has inspired many artists and has performed with them as well: among others Bob Dylan, Patti Smith and Judy Collins.
