69 BELIEFS

An extensional belief may be of the sort: 'I believe the book's on the table'. An intensional belief (i.e. referentially opaque contexts) may be epistemically indefensible. It is impossible for the believer to 'know'. A belief-structure or deep-structure for our work is of the second kind of belief.
